From dialogue to delivery
The Forum does not end when the main sessions close. After the two summit days and a day of training and site visits, companies and researchers stay on in the host city to work with local industry, universities and public bodies on technology cooperation and local R&D.
How it works
Co-development with local partners
Residents work alongside local companies, research institutions and public bodies on challenges identified by the host city.
Access to real pilot sites
Solutions are tested in real settings, from factories and ports to public services and urban infrastructure.
Evidence and investment pathways
Results feed into the Forum’s research tracks and can be presented to investors and funders in the impact deal room.
Designed around each host city
No two host cities are the same. The programme is co-designed with each host city and tailored to its capacity and priorities:
- Duration and scale: from short focused residencies to longer programmes, matched to local resources
- Themes: aligned with the city’s industrial strengths and transition goals
- Facilities: labs, test sites, co-working spaces and partner networks the city can offer
- Partners: local companies, universities and agencies that host and support residents
For host cities
The Residency Programme turns a global event into lasting local value: new partnerships, piloted solutions, research collaboration and investment interest that remain after the Forum.
For companies and researchers
A structured way to test and adapt your solutions in a real industrial and urban context, with direct access to local partners, decision-makers and pilot sites.
Programme status
The Residency Programme will be launched with the first host city of i5Forum 2028. Programme details will be announced once co-designed with the host city.
